We spent all day yesterday at the farmer’s market in Olympia…and it was wonderful!! So many goodies grown on farms right here in beautiful Washington state! And of course, I got some pretty pictures to share with all of you!

I’ve been so busy here…trying to get everything ready for Kristina to go back to school. I feel like I’m way behind in everything, including my blogging! I have to get caught up reading everyone's blogs this weekend lol!

Kristina decided she wanted a messenger bag this year instead of a regular back pack. At first I didn’t really want to get her one because I thought she would end up complaining about it being uncomfortable to carry. But when she picked this out with it’s matching lunchbox…

I just couldn’t resist!

The Mortal Instruments

For those of you that don’t know….I LOVE to read. Reading is a huge stress reliever for me and just an all around great escape! So that is exactly what I have been up to.

I absolutely adore Stephenie Meyer, not just Twilight either…I also loved The Host. She is an amazing writer. But, since she’s more into making movies right now then writing, I had to find something else to read.

So I found these:

The Mortal Instruments trilogy

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed escaping into this fantasy world. It was awesome (although short lived since I read so fast!)

Here’s a little video, which happens to be about the 3rd book City of Glass

So is that enough raving about these books?! Well almost…just one more little plug for Cassandra, she is working on another trilogy. A prequel to the Mortal Instruments, called The Infernal Devices! Coming Next year….hmmm can’t wait!

Now…If I have gotten any of you interested in these books, I will happily pass my copies on if you’d like them. First two are in paperback and the third in hardcover (cuz i’m just too impatient to wait for the paperback lol) All three are in awesome condition (City of Glass i bought and read yesterday so it’s still new!) I promise I didn’t even drool or slobber on any of them :)

Renaissance fantasy faire

So today was a first for me…first Renaissance faire that is! Not exactly what I would have chosen to do today, but since every time we make plans with Dad I end up flaking…so I figured I owed him this one!

So we packed up Kristina and her friend, went and got Dad, and off we went! And it was interesting. Lots and lots of people dressed up, and talking a bit strange. A pretty little fairy pulling a cart of bottled water lol…gave the girls fairy jewels. They were very impressed with her sparkly treasures.

Here they are looking all cute! I’m just glad it was cool enough to spend the whole day outdoors!

I meant to get a whole bunch of pictures of the people dressed up and entertaining people with the magic and the jousting and what not…but by this point I felt like crap and had a killer migraine. So instead I have a few pictures of my clan…as dressed up as they’re gonna get lol!

And that was our saturday. Not exactly my thing…but we had fun. I think the highlight of my day was the home made cream soda in a big blue bottle. The label says it was brewed in the belly of a dragon! I know, I’m easily amused by simple things hehe.

Well I hope that all of you are having a wonderful weekend! Monday starts another week of getting my angel ready to go back to school. I still need to finish sewing up a few things for her, and finish buying her school supplies. So much to do and only 2 weeks left! I can’t believe it…where has the summer gone?! Well that’s all for now…I’m off to try and get rid of my migraine.

Whatcha working on Wednesday

It’s finally cooling off and I love it!! I am working on so many things right now, and trying to take advantage of the cool weather while we have it lol. So another week…wow. I feel like I get farther behind every time WWW rolls around. But it’s so fun to see what others are spending their summers working on, so thanks Leslie for hosting!

So this weeks projects are:

Mostly back to school clothes! Can’t believe it’s that time already. Kristina (if you haven’t noticed from the pictures of her) is very tall for an 8 yr old, so in order for her skirts and dresses to be long enough…it’s easier just to make them. And she does love her girlie dresses!

isn’t this the cutest corduroy ever?! this jumper is all cut out and just waiting for me to sew it together!

Fabric I bought yesterday…from the mod girls line. I just love paisley! This is going to be a cute skirt and peasant top.

Got these two yesterday too. Not sure yet what i’ll make for her, but thought they were darn cute. Especially the bloomin birds!

And lastly….

My shabby boms from Jenny! I absolutely adore this antique flower line in pastel from Lucien! I can’t get enough of it (mom actually drove me to a quilt shop in Tacoma yesterday just so I could get more!)

So I spent a lot of today tracing the designs and appliqueing, so I’m all ready to sit down and stitch. I’m really excited about making this quilt….it’s going to be a present for my grandma. (so no peeking grandma!!)

So that’s a lot of things for me to finish this week…hopefully lol

Hubby is back at work now, so on days I need the car Kristina and I have to get up early and drive him to work. Since i’m in no way a morning person it really throws off my day lol. But we’re adjusting and hopefully soon we can get him a car! In the meantime…i just have to get up early (such a dirty word lol) which means more time to finish all these projects right?! hehe

Hmmm…another week gone by so fast! And what a week it has been. All over Washington we are setting records for the hottest summer EVER! Btw, our wonderful military housing has no air conditioning, so we are dutifully melting away while the temperatures continue to climb. It’s after 11 pm and still 90 degrees in my house! If i haven’t mentioned it lately, i’ll just say it again….I hate the sun. Come on, it’s washington…bring on the rain!

Anyways, I haven’t finished many projects this week, but I did manage to start a few lol! Before my niece went home i had all the pictures of the girls week together printed so i could make them each an album. (a cheater album of course lol)

Its mostly done except for adding Kristina’s journaling on each page.

I also got out a 4 yr. old work in progress. I really can’t believe its been 4 yrs. and it’s not done lol. Soon though this quilt will be finished!

I have also started on a fun ruffled, flirty skirt for Kristina. For halloween of course! She adores hello kitty and I thought this fabric was so cute!

And I haven’t decided exactly what i’m going to do with this fabric (except collect some more pieces hehe) But i am loving this Lilly Pond fabric!

Well that’s about it for this week. Now i just hope it starts cooling down soon so i can finish things lol!

whatcha working on wednesday

Hmm…I would really love to show you all tons of cute projects, but apparently that just wasn’t meant to be this week! Not for lack of trying of course! Since hubby got home late friday night, things have been non-stop around here. Kristina has been down at my mom’s spending the week with her and my niece Nicole. But we got to keep the girls over here on tuesday and wednesday. It’s been wonderful to spend time with her since we haven’t lived close to my brother and his family since the girls were babies.

So, since today was another gorgeous day, we spent it at Wildcat Lake!

See the big beautiful house being built across the lake? Well…it’s not ours.

And see the bright, sunny sailboat?

Not ours either! But I can still dream lol

Honestly though…it was beautiful here today and the girls had so much fun. I enjoyed watching them play and taking pictures of course! (and turning into a human lobster, since my super white skin and the sun don’t mix well. You’d think i’d be used to sun after spending the last 3 years in Hawaii!!)

Kristina had to take Nicole’s hand and lead her into the water…she was scared of the tadpoles!

But she got over it lol

and this picture I took because, well, it just made me feel like an old mother hen! the whole time I was watching these teenage boys climb this pole and then dive, jump, backflip and whatever else off it….all I wanted to do was run and tell them to stop before someone broke their head! (or some other vitally important part) When did I get so old?!

I really enjoyed spending today with these two, and I’m glad that they had so much fun!

Maybe next week I’ll have some actual projects to show off on Wednesday…maybe.

Wow, I can’t believe I haven’t blogged all week. Where exactly did the week go?! I was so busy trying to get everything ready for hubby coming home. His flight was delayed a few times, so he spent a very large part of yesterday in airports…poor thing. I was finally able to pick him up at 12:45 last night. It’s good to have him home!

Friday Kristina and I went with mom and grandma over to Chehalis to pick up my niece. Of course we had to stop at Sister’s quilt shop since they were having a christmas in july sale. Lucky us! So here is some of the yummy fabric I bought. I’m pretty sure I’m having an aqua phase!

I also got a fun charm pack and some yardage from moda’s pumpkins gone wild. Thought I’d make something cute for fall!

Also…today, since Kristina is spending the week at grandmas with her cousin, hubby took me to see Harry Potter!! Aside from a few things I thought they should not have left out…it was a great movie!

Whatcha Working On Wednesday

This is my first post for whatcha working on wednesday, and I can’t promise that I’ll have a project to show every week, but it sounded fun so I wanted to participate! Thank you Leslie for the opportunity to share :)

I’ve been working on this for a couple of days…uh maybe a week lol! It’s finally done YAY

Oh my gosh, how I LOVE moda’s Woodland Bloom fabric! As I was putting this darling skirt together for Kristina, I actually wanted to turn it into a quilt. But she was so excited that I was making her a skirt, and I didn’t want to disappoint her! I’m so pleased with how it turned out. (and she loves it too!)

One more project for today…but just a peek since it’s for my shop hop giveaway. Strawberry Lemonade….YUM

Should be finished in no time….well maybe lol

It’s chilly and cloudy here today…Just like I like it! So it was a perfect day to work on projects! At least the project pile is getting a little smaller right?!

It’s my Life

Time for another round of It’s my Life over at Julie's. New month, so new theme too!

1. What did your home look like? Was is a house or an apartment? What color was it? Was it one story or two? The first home I remember was an older farmhouse ..I think. I remember it was white and had two stories. I shared an upstairs bedroom with one of my sisters. Then we moved to a split-level, then a two story townhouse, then a one level uhhh I guess I’d call it a cottage lol. Then campus housing which was a town house. Wow, that’s a few places huh?!

2. What was your neighborhood like? The first house I don’t remember the neighbors much. The split level was in a good neighborhood. Lots of kids to play with and as I got older I baby sat. In fact my step sister Chanda is now married to one of the boys I used to babysit!

3. Did you have a lawn? Did you have flower beds? Did you have a garden? Did you help care for the flowers or garden? In our first house we had lots of room to be kids! We had grass, we had trees to climb, a big garden, and a chicken coop. The second we also had a wonderful yard, and a garden and yellow plum trees (which were very yummy). And yes we had to help with the garden, and no I did not enjoy it lol!

4. Did you have a front stoop or porch? Umm I really don’t remember. all I remember is the back deck on our split-level. And I think that home just had a front stoop.

Wow a 2nd post for today…guess that’s because it’s too hot to do anything else lol

Well, I haven’t been blogging for very long so you probably have no idea about my addiction.

I’m addicted to paper

and brads

and buttons

and rub-on’s

and stickers with cute little phrases…

well you get the picture

The military for some reason loves to provide their service members with one or sometimes two HUGE storage closets…Do we really have that much junk?! Okay maybe…but hey who needs to park in the garage? I’ll just store stuff in there.

Which frees up my oversized closet for things that are more fun

Like a Scrapbook and Fabric room! Just so you know…this room is not totally unpacked yet, which is why it’s such a huge mess!

So as I was sorting and organizing , I pulled out a bunch of pages that I had made with my best friend Rie, during all night scrapbooking marathons. Sadly we are now separated by a few states, with her being in Ohio and me in Washington. Isn’t it just more fun to craft with someone you love spending time with?!

I’m now taking volunteers for a crafty buddy! hehe

I just love scrapbooking…it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy!

Okay in honor of my addiction I’m having my first giveaway!!!!

I put together two different sets because I just couldn’t resist! (addiction, remember?!) So Heidi Grace is one of my favorites. Her paper and accessories are simply amazing!

(btw, I LOVE her fabric too!)

Each cardstock paper pack has 24 pieces of double sided cardstock. I put 4 different accessory packs that coordinate with the cardstock packs. Even if you aren’t a scrap booker, with a few basic supplies you can use these to create a whole album or even a bunch of cute cards!

I hope everyone had a wonderful, and safe 4th of July!

Kristina and I spent the day with Grandma and Great Grandma. I had wanted to take her down to the carnival, but it was wayyyyyyyyy too hot outside! So Grandma had her make a fun quilty flag project! Here’s her finished flag (well sort of…I still need to go get a mat to put in the frame)

And what would the 4th be without our PINK salad???!!! Or really any occasion for that matter….we love it so much we’ll make up reasons to make it!

Oh so yummy!! I’m sure that many of you have made this or make something like it. I have no idea what it’s really called but since I was a little girl, we have always called it pink salad. Probably because it’s usually pink…go figure

If you haven’t made it and want to try it you need:

cottage cheese

cool whip

fruit cocktail

and your favorite kind of jello!

toss it all in a bowl, mix and Enjoy :)

Helpful hint ~ It’s always better after it’s been in the fridge for a day or so. And for those of us who watch our girly figures….you can make it with cool whip free, light or free fruit, and sugar free jello and it will still taste just as good!!!

Okay now I need to share this picture (which my mom will kill me for later hehe)

See that pretty white plate up there keeping the meat warm? Well it’s stuck LOL

Mom actually called me out to help, but I grabbed my camera instead. Obviously I could not pass up the opportunity to forever capture this moment. So in between fits of laughing, the plate managed to get unstuck and the chicken and pork saved!

It’s My Life

It’s time for this weeks questions for the family history project.

1. Was yours a religious family? Yes…we are LDS Were Sunday's spent together with family? Sunday was always a family day.

2. Did your family take vacations? I guess we took a few. I don’t think the drive was ever pleasant though…I remember a lot of bickering and Dad yelling about turning around and going back home! Did you go to the same place every year? Nope

3. Do you remember any special stories your grandparents told you? Did you sit on a lap when you heard these stories or did you hear them when you and your grandparent would walk hand-in-hand, taking a stroll? Do you tell any of these same stories to your children? I don’t really remember any stories told to us by my grandparents. My grandma and grandpa weren’t your typical grandparents I guess since they were still raising kids. Two of my aunts are just a couple years older then me. So I never felt like I got a lot of quality time with my grandparents. And on my dad’s side I don’t really know any of them. There’s a huge chunk of my childhood where we never saw my grandma. Wasn’t until I was an adult that I saw her again.

4. Did your grandparents live nearby? On my mom’s side, yes. Just across town. How often did you visit their homes? All the time. Almost all our family gatherings were at their house. Did the house have any special smells? Don’t really remember any special smells. Except peanut butter… my grandpa LOVED peanut butter! What did their couch feel like? Uh…I just have to say that my grandmas house is so much different now then it was growing up. Back then I there was so much glass and fancy things that I was always afraid to touch anything, or sit on anything lol. It’s much better now…all homey and inviting and smells like cinnamon! :)

I was way too tired to blog when we got home on day #3 and #4 so I’m doing it all now lol. Our first stop was in Chehalis, Washington. We loved this shop!!

Oakville, Washington…This had to be the most charming shop we’ve been to so far. Fabric in the attic!! How cool is that?! Used to be a soda shop or something since they still have the bar stools at the counter, and the rack above it. Definitely worth the drive!

This is Bayside Quilting 2. This store was HUGE! So many wonderful things to look at and lots of pretty samples!

Shop Hop day #2!

We hopped to 4 shops today :) Pretty good for not leaving the house until the afternoon! (and I made an oops and forgot the map and directions...so we had to go back for em!)

First stop in Tacoma, Washington. The outside of the building is horrible. But once inside...OH MY...they had more fabric crammed in that little store then i've ever seen in one quilt shop! There was barely enough room to walk around lol.

They didn't have many samples made up, but aren't the ruffles the cutest??!!

These are 2 of the fabrics I found there...and not at any of the other shops we've been to so far. These are sooooooooooooooo beautiful. although the pics really suck. Imported from Japan. I really have to go back for more colors...to die for fabric!

First day of Shop Hop!

Our first stop of the day! Kingston quilt shop. We are all very excited!

This is their block...my mom probably told me about 20 times today what the theme is this year, but I just can't seem to remember lol. Something or other to do with western washington hehe.

I was reading Julie's blog over at http://julieisa.blogspot.com/ and thought this was an awesome idea...she's calling it "It's my life" and every Tuesday she will post questions to answer about your life. And there will be a new theme every month. I love that she wants to make a book from her posts for her children one day. How sweet is that?!! So I thought I would play along for my daughter. It's also a creative way to get to know my fellow bloggers, and for you to learn more about me then you ever wanted to know lol! So here goes..

Did your family get together much casualy or did you have to travel to spend time together?Every holiday, alot of birthdays and so many days in between lol. I remember so many matching dresses made by mom and grandma, christmas talent shows, easter egg hunts complete with a whole lotta rotten eggs discovered later, even a vacation in grandma and grandpas motor home.
Life has put a lot of distance between alot of us, but I feel blessed to be here now and able to spend time with my mom and my grandma.

Tuesday already??! ...and a stitchery gift for my Grandma!

Wow...feels like I lost a day somewhere lol! I didn't get to blog this weekend...didn't get my craft day either :( We've just been bouncing from one place to another!
Saturday was my nephews birthday party, and me being so scatterbrained, forgot my camera. They had the party out at long lake so the kids could all play in the water. Beautiful weather, and a jet ski made for a fun day! At first Kristina wouldn't get on the jet ski...she was afraid of Uncle Brian's crazy driving lol. But she finally went with Aunt Brandy and she loved it! It was so nice to visit with everyone since I haven't seen most of them in 4 years. Fun day!
Sunday I was going to run out and pick up some batting and a few other things I needed so I could finish a bunch of projects...but
not so much.
Sunday was my hubbys 30th birthday and also our 9 year anniversary. And sadly he spent it in Florida by himself :( So I spent the morning on the phone with family wishing us a happy day (as happy as it could be anyways), and then dad in law called and invited us over for ribs. Now who could pass that up?! I jumped on that when I realized I wouldn't have to cook lol. So we spent the evening in Port Orchard. At least it distracted me from feeling sorry for myself!

So...yeah didn't get much done over the weekend, but I stitched up the cutest patriotic stitchery and decided since my Grandma really liked the pattern ~ I would make it for her. She's so sweet and I wanted to make her a gift! It is almost done...I just need to choose between the red and the green homespun. Been looking at it all day and still haven't decided! Hopefully I'll choose and get it put together tonight, and it will be turn into a darling wall hanging :)
Now I could drive the 15 minutes down to her house and hand it to her, but I thought it would be more fun to send it in the mail. Who doesn't love getting presents in the mail?!
I hope she likes it!

Evening everyone! First I'd just like to tell you that http://farmhouseprimitives.blogspot.com/ is having this awesome giveaway....you should check it out!! She has some really great things in there.

Here's my pile of TS goodies for today! I get so excited lol. I got these 4 baskets for about $2 each. I love them, and you can never have too many baskets right?!

I also found these best friend shelf sitter annies. They were just too cute to resist. And all the primitive stars are just awesome with the rusty stars and bells attached. Got 3 big ones and a bunch of little ones, and the believe pillow in a bag for $5! YAY me!!

This last picture I posted mainly for my mom. I came home the other day from a little shop in Poulsbo that we love, and couldn't stop going on about how much I adored my new primitive sheep bowl...well its supposed to be a sheep, but sometimes I think its a cow lol. Anyways here it is on a shelf so I can smile at it everytime I walk past! Super cute isn't it mom?!! We'll go get you one if you love it :)

I didn't really finish any projects today to show you...I think I have too many going at once. I need a SUPER craft day lol. Hopefully I will get some done this weekend so I can share!

Sometimes it's the little things...

Today is one of those days. We all have them. Days where it seems like you can't take the weight of one more thing. Whether you're religious or not, everyone has faith in something...everyone needs something to believe in. I believe that having something to believe in makes us better equipped to deal with everyday life. I grew up in the mormon church, and although I have spent the last few years inactive, I still hold onto my faith. My belief that god, in his infinite wisdom, has a plan for me. My life is not tragic, there are many people that are far worse off then I am. But there are times when all the little things turn into something huge and heavy. I am for the most part an optimist. A few bumps in the road are rarely something I can't handle because I believe that things will work out as they were meant to. For some reason my heart chose today to reach it's breaking point. God really can't expect me to sort through it all, right? Ha ha. I just keep telling myself that there is a plan. Even if I don't have a clue....someone does.
Well, the point of my midnight rant is this....
There are people in your life, people around you who need you. You may not be able to readily see it because they have not suffered any great tragedy. They suffer mostly in silence. Not wanting to burden others. Reach out to one of them today. Even if it's just to offer a smile, or a hug, or even an offer to just listen. With just one kind act, you will help to ease the weight of all the little things. Bring a little sunshine to someones day...and ever the optimist...it will make your day too!

Primitive kisses from my mom...isn't she sweet!!

Isn't this the most awesome bench?!! My mom met a guy that makes furniture and things out of old wood and she bought this bench (with good intentions to use it!) but sadly she didn't have a good spot to put it. :( I told her that I had a WONDERFUL spot for it, and she could come visit it whenever she wanted hehe. Don't know if you can tell, but it's adorably primitive with all it's chippy paint and rusted star! I am sooooooo happy with it. And my mom is really sweet to give it to me! Now I just need to find a bunch of cute stuff to display on it.

I went to our local TS/consignment shop yesterday and found this cutest primitve bunny made by Honey and Me. Isn't he amazing?! It was only $5 and I couldn't resist him! He's resting comfortably on my new prim bench!

She also gave me this frame...sorry about the really bad picture. :( The blue on it is lighter then the pic and the frame is all faded and worn and lovely! I plan on stitching up this cute americana stitchery and puting it in the frame!

I had wanted to join Whatcha Workin on Wednesday to show this off yesterday but mr. linky isn't feeling so linky right now, and since i'm new to blogging...well ya know.

So...this is my completed shabby BOM from Jenny. She is so talented and very sweet to share these patterns with us. I chose to leave the word off this block and I'm going to add a couple of fabric borders and then frame it. This particular block I actually made for the wall. I am working on them as quilt blocks also.

I really love how Leslie chose to use her daughters name on a block...so cute and personal! I love reading her blog, it's one of my favorites!

Okay, well I'm off to finish making dinner...too bad it won't make itself hehe

Kristina's Project

This was such a fun Sunday project for Kristina and I to do together. I really wanted to have something to hang on the wall that was handcrafted by my girl. I got this idea after seeing the cutest wall hanging at http://www.uptownjane.etsy.com. I just adapted it a bit to make it easier for Kristina to do mostly by herself. So I snapped a few pictures to share with you while she was hard at work on her creation.
Here she is painting the frame! (I picked all the colors for the project...might've been more fun to let her pick out all the colors, but uhhh well you know)

Now she's ironing the heatnbond onto the back of her fabric. We used a bit much ...but yay for leftovers!

Arranging the pieces was the hardest part for her. (and me too!) I think she was afraid I would be disappointed if she put them in the wrong spot lol. I asked if she wanted me to help and she just rolled her eyes and said "moooooooommmmmmm I wanna do it my way"!

I missed a few pictures in here somewhere lol...I think because hubby called from Florida. But she ironed the carefully placed pieces on all by herself and

As soon as I run out and buy a fabric pen, I'll have her sign her name to it! I am so glad we did this today. She loves to be creative, and I really love being able to teach her new things. She has now named herself my new little ironing girl!

Objects of Desire

Oh my...can you believe how adorable this fabric is?? When I saw it...it just made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Yep awesome fabric really does that! I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, but I just had to have it. It is aptly named....Objects of desire lol

I also couldn't resist this wall hanging pattern....little wool felt sheep!!!! They are so incredibly cute, and I just love the colors. And I made sure to buy the kit instead of just the pattern. That's just because I'm too lazy to hunt down all the pieces myself! I can't wait to work on it...but sadly, I think my sewing scissors are still packed in a box somewhere.

And this is a raggedy stitchery project I'm making for my angel girl. If you don't already know...I LOVE stitchery projects!! I have quite a few going on right now, but I really want to complete this one. Can't decide how to finish it though. Was thinking about adding a cute fabric border...then to frame or make a pillow....uhhhhhh

Okay. Kristina is bugging me to work on a project. It's gonna be a cute one!! All I have to do is remember she's only 8 and then let go of some of my ummmm my way or else qualities. Yeah I can do this. It's gonna turn out awesome and I can't wait to share it with you!

Projects...at 2 am!

I have to say that 2 am is not so great of a time to work on projects...I think due to the lack of natural light lol~ But I'm up anyway so I figured I should get some things done!
Got DH off to catch his flight to Florida about this time last night...I always have trouble sleeping the first few days after he leaves. My angel girl is sleeping, and the house is sooooooo quiet....so....PERFECT time to paint hehe

I found these two wooden bowls at goodwill shaped like a flower and thought they would be awesome for Kristina's room. I took a before picture so you could see how great they are. I was so happy when I found them, and I think I only paid $2 for em!

So, as my angel is very girlie and LOVES pink...her room is done in mostly pink and green. I painted the large bowl pink first then green...and the small one green then pink, then sanded so you could see the underlying color. Can't really tell from my rotten picture, but they turned out cute. All that's left is to choose what to fill them with!

I think I already posted about how many great things I have found at thrift stores recently...which i'll get around to posting pics of lol. But I sat and sanded about half of them tonight while watching tv. This crate I had no idea what I was going to use it for, so my mom suggested I use it to hold my rolled up tea towels in my kitchen. She's so smart!
It's only half through it's makeover...so no finished picture yet.

Hmm guess that's all the pictures I took today. But I have sooooo many more goodies to share with you. Wow, I should really pace myself! Now if I could just get my brain to shut off for a while I might be able to go to bed.

Or maybe I could fit in one more project...

Another First

Today is my daughter's third "first" day of school this year....yep 3rd.

She is taking it all rather well...alot better then I would be! She was so excited that she had a hard time sleeping last night. She layed out her outfit, and asked me to pack her a home lunch. She got ready this morning, came downstairs, and said "well mom, it's ANOTHER first day of school." And with only 3 weeks left too! My sweet, wonderfully resilient girl....I hope you have an awesome first day of school!

Just Starting...

This is my first blog, and I am so excited!! We have just recently moved back home to Washington after 8 years and we feel so blessed to once again be surrounded by our family. It's funny how growing up I couldn't wait to get away from here, but once the Navy started moving us around, I found that our "home" couldn't be replaced.

We spent the last 3 years in Hawaii, and just so you know...not everyone loves it there. I hated it more then anywhere we've been so far, and I REALLY missed the rain! So I guess that led to a 3 year slump in my creativity! But now that I'm home... I can't wait to finish, and start, about a million projects!

My mom is very creative, and also has a blog that you should check out http://applesquiltsandmore.blogspot.com/. There are some wayyyyyy cute pics of her teaching my daughter to make the cutest necklace she found on moda bake shop :)

So a few things about me...

I love thrift store goodies! I found a bunch today that I will be taking pics of to show you. Before their makeovers of course lol.

I love americana decor...maybe that comes from hubby being in the military, but not sure!

I also love stitcheries...I am working on a few and will be posting pics and asking for input :)

Well that's all I have for now, till I get the pictures posted. Hubby is leaving for school in Florida friday morning, so I will have plenty of time for some uninterrupted creativity...at least during school hours!
